Each year in May, the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce and Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau host a Celebration of Business & Tourism luncheon, trade show and awards presentation. Of the seven categories for achievement and collaboration between the business and tourism community, our islands received two top honors:
The Top Honor for Education was the ?Ding? Darling Wildlife Society of Sanibel.
The Top Honor for Eco-Innovation was the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation.
Accepting a Junonia award was ?Tween Waters CEO and Visit Florida chairman, Tony Lapi, one of three individuals who was recognized due to his leadership and dedication throughout the local tourism community.
