Use Laundry Bar Soap to Wash Clothes When Traveling Light [Travel]

Use Laundry Bar Soap to Wash Clothes When Traveling LightIf you're a frequent traveler who prefers to pack light with just one carry on bag you'll be doing a lot of laundry in your hotel sink. You can buy small packets of Woolite, but if you're going on an extended trip a bar of laundry soap will last a lot longer.

Financial blog Mr. Money Mustache recommends taking a bar of laundry soap such as Colgate Octagon to hand wash your clothing in the bathroom sink. Since it's a solid bar you won't have to worry about getting through airport security and laundry bar soap works well as a stain remover when you're at home. If you can't find laundry soap bars locally you can get a bar of Octagon on Amazon for less than a dollar.

If you plan on doing travel laundry, make sure you also carry a way to plug a sink drain (cheap hotels often have missing sink plugs) and a way to hang up your clothing to dry. Photo by Glen.
